Troubleshooting
Common issues and how to fix them.
The radial menu doesn't appear
- Check that Loopty is running. Look for its icon in the menu bar.
- Make sure Accessibility permissions are granted: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility. Toggle Loopty off and back on, then restart Loopty.
- Confirm you are using the correct trigger. The default keyboard hotkey is ⌥Space (Option+Space). Check your current trigger in Settings → Shortcuts.
- If you are using a mouse trigger, make sure you are pressing the buttons in the correct order.
An item won't launch from the menu
- For apps: make sure the app is still installed. If you moved or reinstalled it, remove the shortcut and re-add it from the Apps tab in Settings.
- For folders and files: check that the path still exists. If you moved the folder or file, re-add it.
- For websites: verify the URL is valid and starts with https:// or http://.
Loopty conflicts with right-click menus
If the radial menu opens when you intend to right-click, increase the trigger hold delay. Go to Settings → General and look for the hold delay option. A longer delay means you can right-click normally without accidentally triggering Loopty.
The hotkey doesn't work in certain apps
Some apps consume hotkeys before they reach the system. Try using a less common key combination (e.g. ⌃⌥Space instead of ⌥Space) that is less likely to be intercepted. You can also use a mouse trigger instead.
Loopty is using too much memory or CPU
Loopty is designed to be lightweight and should use minimal resources when idle. If you notice consistently high usage, try quitting and relaunching the app. If the issue persists, please report it on the forum with your macOS version and Loopty version.
Settings changes aren't saving
Settings are saved automatically as you make changes. If a setting doesn't seem to persist, try quitting and relaunching Loopty. If your configuration appears to have reset, check Settings → Advanced. If the database was corrupted on a previous launch, Loopty may have restored from a backup.
