Opening the Launcher

The radial menu appears right at your cursor position. You can trigger it with a keyboard hotkey, a mouse button combo, or from the menu bar.

Keyboard hotkey (default: ⌥Space)

Press Option+Space from anywhere on your Mac and the radial menu will bloom around your cursor. Press the same hotkey again to dismiss it. You can change this shortcut in Settings → Shortcuts.

Mouse button trigger

You can also assign a mouse button combo to open the menu. For example, pressing Right then Left, or Left then Middle. Configure this in Settings → Shortcuts → Mouse Clicks.

Double-tap a modifier key

Quickly pressing and releasing the same modifier key twice — similar to how macOS opens Spotlight with a double Command tap — can open or dismiss the menu. Each press must be clean (no other keys held, duration under 0.3 s) and both taps must land within 0.35 s of each other.

1. 1Open Settings and go to the Shortcuts tab.
2. 2Under Double-Tap to Open, choose a modifier: ⌘ Command, ⌥ Option, ⌃ Control, or ⇧ Shift.
3. 3Double-tap that key from any app to toggle the menu.

Trackpad tap gesture

Place three fingers on your trackpad and tap quickly to open the menu. A double-tap variant is also available if you prefer a more deliberate trigger. The tap must be short (under 0.35 s contact) with minimal finger movement so normal three-finger swipes are never accidentally triggered.

2. 2Under Trackpad Gesture, choose Three-Finger Tap or Three-Finger Double-Tap.
3. 3Tap with three fingers anywhere on your trackpad to toggle the menu.

Menu bar

Click the Loopty icon in your menu bar and choose Show Menu. This is useful when you want to open the menu at a specific location or test your configuration.
