FAQ
Answers to frequently asked questions.
Is Loopty free?
Yes. Loopty is completely free to download and use. There are no subscriptions, trials, or in-app purchases. All features are available from day one.
Does Loopty work on Intel Macs?
Yes. Loopty is a universal binary and runs natively on both Apple Silicon (M1 and later) and Intel Macs.
Why does Loopty need Accessibility permissions?
Accessibility permissions allow Loopty to register a global hotkey and detect mouse button presses system-wide. This is how the menu can be triggered from any app. Loopty only uses these permissions for the trigger gesture and never reads your screen, clipboard, or input outside of that.
Can I have multiple radial menus?
Yes. Loopty supports multiple named menus, each with its own set of rings and shortcuts. Create them in Settings → Menus. You can cycle between menus while the launcher is open, or assign each menu its own global hotkey to open it directly.
How many shortcuts can I add?
Each ring can hold 4–16 slots and each menu can have up to 5 rings, giving you up to 80 shortcuts per menu. With multiple menus you can organize as many shortcuts as you need.
Can I launch folders and websites, not just apps?
Yes. Each slot can hold an app, folder, file, or website. Folders open in Finder, files open in their default app, and websites open in your chosen browser.
Does Loopty work on multiple displays?
Yes. The radial menu appears at your cursor position regardless of which display your cursor is on.
Will Loopty come to iOS or iPadOS?
Loopty is currently macOS-only. There are no plans for an iOS or iPadOS version at this time.
Can I back up my configuration?
Yes. Use Settings → Advanced to export your entire configuration (all menus, rings, shortcuts, saved websites) to a JSON file. You can import it on the same Mac or a different one.
